By now you’ve probably had a Happy Thanksgiving and several Thanksgiving leftover plates. Sometimes, no, quite often, this time of year triggers us to eat, and eat. I thought I’d share a few tips to get you back on track so you’re not nibbling your way into the new year, only to gain some inches you don’t want or need. And I’ve also got a special something in the works. I’ll tell you about that in a minute. But first my tips to get you back on track…
1 – This would be a great time for a cleanse. Seriously, a juice cleanse or just to increase your leafy green intake via smoothies. Visit Zahra of The Natural Journey for Life to get your green LIFE hunty. Seriously. She has what you need to get back on track.
2- Throw it out. I keep telling you “YOU ARE NOT A GARBAGE CAN”. You cannot eat all of the food that was left from your huge Thanksgiving feast. Some can go in the freezer, but the rest, get it out of your house by any means necessary. Take it to work, send it to your neighbor’s house, or throw it away. It’s time to reset and you cannot do that with a half a cake sitting on your counter.
3 – Feel free to grab a copy of my favorite 5 Foods for Weight Loss. If you incorporate these into your diet to replace some of the holiday goodies, you will be doing yourself a huge favor.
4 – This would be a good time to do a sugar detox. If you’ll just take the first 3 weeks of December to cut out or severely limit your intake of sweets, you’ll reset and clear out the cravings that may have started with Halloween candy. That way, by the time the Christmas cookies appear you’ll be stronger and not lose your mind over them.
5 – And of course my favorite, be an extra picky, snooty, Diva about what you put in your temple. Make sure it’s worth it or don’t bother with it at all. Especially if somebody else made it and you don’t know how clean (or unclean) they are when they cook. Just that thought alone will save you from nibbling on all the stuff that comes through your office from now until the end of the year.
So I said I had a special something in the works. It has a whole lot to do with these tips above – doing what you need to do to bring yourself through the end of this year in a healthy way. So many of us allow this to be the time of year that we just let go and say forget it, I’ll start over in January. Diva, you’ve got several weeks to go before January, so hang in there as best you can. I’m working on something you’ll appreciate, so be sure to keep an eye out in the Well Diva Lounge for updates.
Okay Diva, I hope that helps! Do you have some tips to share? If so, we need to know. So spill it below!
